<scp>FaithDial</scp>: A Faithful Benchmark for Information-Seeking Dialogue

چکیده
Abstract The goal of information-seeking dialogue is to respond seeker queries with natural language utterances that are grounded on knowledge sources. However, systems often produce unsupported utterances, a phenomenon known as hallucination. To mitigate this behavior, we adopt data-centric solution and create FaithDial, new benchmark for hallucination-free dialogues, by editing hallucinated responses in the Wizard Wikipedia (WoW) benchmark. We observe FaithDial more faithful than WoW while also maintaining engaging conversations. show can serve training signal for: i) hallucination critic, which discriminates whether an utterance or not, boosts performance 12.8 F1 score BEGIN compared existing datasets coherence; ii) high-quality generation. series state-of-the-art models propose auxiliary contrastive objective achieves highest level faithfulness abstractiveness based several automated metrics. Further, find benefits generalize zero-shot transfer other datasets, such CMU-Dog TopicalChat. Finally, human evaluation reveals generated trained perceived interpretable, cooperative, engaging.

Dialogue Management for Language-Based Information Seeking
While the dialogue management for information seeking on table-based structured databases has been actively researched, little has been done on the management of language-based questionanswering dialogues. This paper discusses how to incorporate some of the state-of-the-art techniques for information-seeking dialogue management into language-based question answering, proposing a basic framework...
متن کاملA Constraint-Based Approach for Cooperative Information-Seeking Dialogue
We present a dialogue generation model, implemented in the COMIX prototype information system, which uses a Constraint-Based Problem-Solver (CBPS) to support cooperative mixed-initiative information-seeking dialogue. Use of the CBPS enables a dialogue system to 1) incrementally interleave query construction with solution construction 2) immediately detect under-constrained and overconstrained i...
متن کاملInformation Seeking Spoken Dialogue Systems- Part II: Multimodal Dialogue
In this paper, the task and user interface modules of a multimodal dialogue system development platform are presented. The main goal of this work is to provide a simple, application-independent solution to the problem of multimodal dialogue design for information seeking applications. The proposed system architecture clearly separates the task and interface components of the system. A task mana...
متن کاملInformation Seeking Spoken Dialogue Systems- Part I: Semantics and Pragmatics
In this paper, the semantic and pragmatic modules of a spoken dialogue system development platform are presented and evaluated. The main goal of this research is to create spoken dialogue system modules that are portable across applications domains and interaction modalities. We propose a hierarchical semantic representation that encodes all information supplied by the user over multiple dialog...
متن کاملInformation-Seeking Chat: Dialogue Management by Topic Structure
In this paper we describe the dialogue sub-genre “information-seeking chat”, which is distinguished from other kinds of information-seeking dialogue (e.g. travel information) by its more exploratory and less (single) task-oriented nature. We present an approach to modelling this kind of dialogue, based on the notion of weighted topic structures — a single data structure that represents both the...
